   The Lost Valley

Experience Ireland naturally in the rich heritage

   of the lost Uggool valley.

A 5 km guided walk, on well developed trails

through this spectacular valley, is suitable for

   all ages.

Located in the heart of ‘The Wild Atlantic Way’

and sheltered beneath Mweelrea (the bald king)

the highest mountain in the west of Ireland, this

trail also offers unique views to the entrance of

   The Killary, Ireland’s only fjord.

Beyond the end of the road.

The Lost Valley offers a unique window into the

cultural heritage of The West of Ireland.

Indeed it is in itself, arguably the finest memorial

of The Great Famine that remains today.

Visit the ruined famine village and see the multitude

of potato ridges that have lain undisturbed and

unattended for nearly two centuries.
